CADILLAC — Those who suffer from the holiday blues don’t have do so alone this year.

Munson Healthcare Hospice Bereavement Services invites the community to candlelight ceremonies to acknowledge the pain and loss of the last year and the heaviness that can be felt amidst holiday joy.

According to a press release issued by Munson, the winter solstice gatherings are a way to come together to light the way with hope and healing during the darkest night of the year.

“The ceremony is held each year around the holiday season and is a special way to remember and honor those loved ones who are no longer with us,” said Shari Wilson, president of post-acute care. “It is a celebration of light and unity, a time to share fellowship with others. To join in the sharing of common purpose and to reflect and rejoice in the memories we hold so dear.”

Gatherings will be held in Cadillac and Traverse City on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. The event in Cadillac will be held at the hospital and the event in Traverse City will be held at Kirkbride hall, at 700 Cottageview Dr.
