Cheers and Jeers for November 4

Jeers to TV’s war on rodents.
Single Parents squished a guinea pig named Pickle in its October 10 episode (Devin Trey Campbell’s Rory hosted the memorial, pictured) and Legacies’ Hope sacrificed a rat for
a spell during the series premiere. If anyone lays a finger on Mickey Mouse, ya’ll are gonna be answering to us, mmmkay?

Jeers to CBS
for being so hell-bent on letters. Between three NCIS-es, FBI, S.W.A.T. (pictured), Magnum P.I. and Criminal Minds’ BAU, it’s a daily struggle to keep all of the damn initials straight, much less what some of them actually stand for. We thought ABC was the alphabet network.

Cheers to Seth Meyers
for REALLY nailing his first SNL hosting gig. The former Weekend Updater’s (pictured, with Michael Che) joyful return to the studio was a blast to behold, especially since it allowed the alum to appear in more skits than he ever got to do back when he was busy as the show’s head writer.

Cheers to The Voice for nailing the four-part harmony with its judges. The hook, of course, is the vocal competition, but let’s be real: The reason to stick around for all the battles rounds and whatnot is the sassy, hard-earned know-how that Kelly Clarkson and J-Hud happily serve along with O.G. mentors Blake and Adam.
